The CD of rarities studio first. I pass quickly on Australian original versions of High Voltage, It's A Long Way To The Top, Rocker, Dirty Deeds and Is not No Fun ultimately very close versions presented to the world. For hardcore fans so. Ditto for version "12 extended mix" of Who Made Who. In terms of real rarities, an obvious fact: the best is taken from the Bon Scott period. Stick Around, RIP, Carry Me Home and Cold Hearted Man are securities in the purest AC / dcienne tradition. Love Song is a true surprise, the biggest of the CD besides: a ballad, THE ballad repertoire of AC / DC ... You were waiting, here! Finally, a title that is not really to my taste but a real curiosity. Fling Thing is a small candy celtic cut for pubs. Crabsody In Blue is a slow blues in good order. The following titles, Snake Eye, Borrowed Time, Down On The Borderline, are from the 80's period with Johnson on vocals and are, you'll understand ... less good. It is no longer the excellent Big Gun, the turnip extract the Last Action Hero soundtrack. The CD ends with the very very good Cyberspace, already well known to fans and only representative of the period that saw the group return to his best (period Ballbreaker / Stiff Upper Lip / Black Ice).
The 2 CD live rarities allow themselves to listen but have two major flaws: too many titles captured in the 80's (not my favorite, you'll understand!) And especially not enough real live unpublished. Indeed, most of the titles are already present in the historical group live, If You Want Blood in '78, Live In Paris 81 (from Bonfire) and Live 92. The fan I would have liked some live versions unpublished pearls recorded by the group in the 70's.
Side image, the group provides a suite double DVD Family Jewels (heirlooms) and therefore offers Volume 2 covering the period from to Ballbreaker Black Ice. This remains clips, exercise in which, admit, AC / DC has never really excelled but hey, it's still fun to watch. The second DVD is a real treat for the fan always happy to find unpublished live images of his favorite band. The concert film dates from 2003 and has an intimate feel which contrasts frankly with live performances filmed for DVD hitherto published by the group.
In the end, this box is a real pleasant surprise that we offer the boys for this year end, to recommend to fans (but is it really necessary?), Not necessarily the novices which we rather advise to attack AC / DC by the north face, or by its historic and essential discography.
