so many positive reviews, there must be something to it. Yesterday I bought via Amazon said Filehub. Many hold the promised features, what was promised. However, the Filehub not connect with my home wireless network and a firmware upgrade is also not recognized.
In the fear that I'm wrong on this point, but I hope a resourceful users stumbles about my problem and can give me an adequate approach.
Data transfer with iOS devices to external storage media definitely works Top as described, however, I prefer the app "Remote Files" for accessing, as these both at the same time allowing access via WIFI on my home computer as also view different file formats can be associated with the RAV App not working.
Visually, the device has a very good, high-quality impression. The delivery took place in less than 36 hours. (Class)
Immediately after unpacking I tested the first access via Ipad Air2 on a USB stick. This worked perfectly and intuitively. Using a 2TB HDD worked just excellent case both with the RAV app or via Remote Files.
SYMPTOMS:
The factory setting out the sign-up wizard, the local wireless network (Speedport 921V Routers Telekom) opens is detected, entering a password is not a problem. after completion of the first 3 steps in the configuration wizard of Filehub restarts but does not connect to the Internet. This leads to the problem that we can access at the time either on the internal Filehub network for data transfer, or on our own W-Lan. Unfortunately a redirect does not work. Firmware Upgrade can not carry out, from within the app, no update is detected, the Web-GUI makes the Ipad Air2 and Ipad4 out until no update, the button is the photo archive links (choose between photo shoot and photo library pops up )
What to try
- Router restart
- Filehub Reset
- Configuration tests via iPad and iPhone both use the Web GUI and the RAV App
- Static IP and DHCP
- Direct connection via Ethernet cable to the router (here works at least the router function of Filehub, Internet and data transfer is possible at the same time.)
- Wifi connection via iPhone Hotspot (Hotspot as the forwarding of their own network)
all to no avail
Conclusion: I can either access data in the home network and the Internet, or on the Filehub. A combination is not possible even though the function should (still) be given. At the moment I jump halt between the two existing WIFI network back and forth which is pretty annoying.
Now I just do not come on and the Filehub appears on the Internet rather yet to be an "insider tip". Many reviews can be found, but unfortunately little troubleshooters.
Otherwise the Filehub is actually the "eggs Wollmilchsau" for my needs. The simply-held configuration interface bothers me this little, because if I can get fully up and running it. Then there's definitely 5 star.
If all functions of the product run, this is a totally successful device for all smartphone and tablet PC users with high demands on storage capacity and compatibility with a wide variety of storage media.
Despite of the problem described above, I can give a strong buy recommendation. Even the hitherto current features are worth the money.
* Edit * 22/02/2015: who has read this far, super, after several lengthy searches and emails to support resulted in the following: the Email Support RAVPOWER deserves ne 1 with asterisks. Evening written, the next morning came the first answer with a request to order to the process to be able to assign clearly. I dutifully completed and only three hours later without further ask the offer, afterwards send you a new device. Ifs works then I did not even return the old, in this case, obviously not flawless product. Already two days later the replacement unit was there. So much for RAVPOWER. The replacement unit had in fact the same problem. Was first disappointed, but I wanted in this case, the error source elsewhere and eventually found in the form of the Speedport 921V. The Telekom could not help me even, but I had laying around an old Speedport 723v with me. Router set up, turned on Filehub, can go through wizard and behold .... am in Wi-Fi and the internet in it. And quickly isser also. Besides the described router 2 other networks with Easybox and Fritzbox tried, no problem. Data transfer from external hard drive to iOS devices is much faster than via the local WLAN. And the kicker, my file shares on the home computers to work without reconfiguring the network in Filehub. Since I test the continuous use. To have mobile in the car on the road and access to a three TB hard drive with iPad and iPhone is ne brilliant thing. Am thrilled. The only negative ... will have to sit down again with the support of RAVPOWER connected. 2've now functioning devices here. ;)
But I think that I'm going to buy 2 also because I do not miss the many uses and my love is on the move a lot and can use the equipment well. Unlimited space with iOS, who would have thought. And then also independent of iTunes. He incidentally supplies a full day with electricity, thereby enabling data access and 5 devices Wireless Internet provided without the battery has gone to his knees my external hard drive. Top, wants a sixth star.
