The title was, however enticing, very disappointing content. In fact, it is essentially a plea for the Catholic religion in mediaeval times. The first article on the Shroud of Turin is very laughable (and its distressing conclusion). The rest is rehabilitating the church and minimize the despotic role during the Ancien Régime. Very disappointed over his reading, I also expect to find a strong and recognized references, which is not the case. Finally, if the authors of this book would like to share their skepticism by questioning certain points of the taught history, critical thinking gets mast from it is to swallow snakes some conspiracy theories (Masonic among others)!
