The sounds of the mill were not exactly quiet but acceptable.
The only thing that bothered us from the start something, were the (crackling, throbbing) pump noise when warming up and also during brewing. The machine was on the ground floor, the work sounds were heard very clearly in the bedrooms on the first floor. But I guess that was to be expected in this price range.
As I said, at first we were thrilled ...
to...
one day, quite exactly 8 months after purchase.
First, a loud crashing sound in the area of the grinder. the engine switched off. The next time you switch on, everything seemed normal. Up to select the number of cups. Once you pressed one of the selection buttons beat it for the whole house out the earth leakage circuit breaker. After three test (I could not believe it at first really) I accepted that the machine had a defect.
So retrieved from the guarantee documents the nearest DeLonghi workshop. No connection via the telephone. E-mails were not answered read indeed (automatic confirmation of receipt).
Direct contact test with DeLonghi brought:
1. a reference to the nearest authorized workshop (unusable so)
2. the statement that more than 3,000 cups of voiding the warranty. (Of which I heard for the first time, however, at 3 -. 4 cups a day for 8 months the result for me a number of a maximum of 800 cups, thus not a problem.)
3. advice that I can print out a free package label on the homepage of the workshop (actually working) that I get but calculates the shipping costs, if it is not covered under warranty.
4, pointing out that for the By measuring the device in any case 39,00 Euro will be charged (except warranty), even if I decide against a repair that these 39,00 Euro so to get to the repair costs
5. pointing me to contact the dealer.
Pointing out the workshop I've been thinking short. But to send a unit to the company that is not reachable by phone for me and does not answer my mails, I was far too risky. I had simply the impression that I would see the machine ever again, or at best a completely inflated repair bill.
Well, do 5 I availed myself turned to Amazon and get offered from there easily withdrawal of the device to the original purchase price. Three days later I had the money back in my account.
Conclusion for me: never again a device from DeLonghi.
We now have a fully automated system from Bosch, the Bosch TES50351DE fully automatic coffee machine VeroCafe bar (1.7 liter, 15 bar, external milk system) silver (of course on Amazon). Although cost 200,00 Euro more but so far we are very satisfied. The coffee is hot (which it never really was in the DeLonghi) and the noise level is considerably lower. But I will give a review for this machine only after thorough use.
