Some of my acquaintance had the 17-50 without VC and were all thrilled. And when a little budget for a new lens was free for me, I decided my 18-105 VR Nikon for sale and finally to upgrade on a "beautiful 2.8". Although me for a good chunk focal length goes flutes. I photograph primarily like people, but I like a lens which is not too much concentrated me. A few weeks ago I asked myself then whether I did not yet take the variant of Tamron's VC, after the 17-50 is without VC already so great, that the same lens with VC will nevertheless only be really good. I looked again at the reviews here at Amazon purely, also compared the sample pictures here, looking at me in my desire confirmed a lens with VC to buy even if the price is an average of 60-70 euros more. In addition to that also a lot of negative stands on the AV. I should have me do, however, more clever, but more on that later. My first 17-50 VC was kapput after 2 days. The panel opened only after every 2nd or 3rd picture again. Exchange no problem. Can happen even once. Me a lot in the 17-50 VC with the extremely strong vignetting on, but otherwise I was quite pleased. But then I borrowed just to make me feel a little better, the Tamron 17 - from 50 without VC my friend. that was a mistake. But a nice error. Sure, it's easier, does not look quite so proffessionell out alone because one has "only" 67 mm size, but the image quality has been around so much better. I compared where I photographed the same objects in the same light, the same camera (D90) and the same settings. Result: The 17-50 without VC was worlds sharper (There in many forums and pages also entprechende Beweise- I would have times more likely to have a look on it), the colors were crisp and natural and vignetting were significantly lower. And all this even though the lens is cheaper and smaller. Sure, as a VC is a good thing and maybe I'll miss him sometimes, but in a dark room, it uses it, anyway, because people move and so far I have done consistently sharper pictures with the non VC. Exactly, I could swap ;-) Thanks. I truly believe that there are sometimes differences in quality of Tamron, may be that I had a little bad luck, but there is ample evidence in many forums and "objective comparison sites" that the Tamron is simply sharper without VC.
