After correct initial use already damaged

I have called the "housing" ordered last week to my Canon EOS 50D to be able to take a peaceful canoe trip on the Ruhr, without making me worry about the camera. In the first test with paper towel in the bathtub I was skeptical, but the bag held tightly, so I decided to take her to the canoe tour.

But after less than half the tour I then realized that in some way the cover of the lens extension right in the middle had a really big scratches. From Inside! My only explanation is that something has scratched the cap on the lens. Now I have just in the middle damage, which makes itself felt ugly to each photo. We paddled quietly through the water, not capsized and had not even levels that we jump down or had to deal. That can not be when properly using! If in the description even of rafting is mentioned, the lid can not be damaged even when paddling so yet.
For proper underwater photographs, I think the housing also unsuitable. It had been in the bath so much lift that I can hardly imagine, fully air push down my own face plus those bags so that I can take pictures targeted more or less.
