Well, very simple:
The HX10V was a very good camera and my hitherto used Panasonic (which was not bad) way ahead.
Above all, the setting Superior Auto enabled (photo) recordings even under unfavorable lighting conditions. The counted as the nightly stroll through resorts. Also snapshots for example in MiWuLa (miniature wonderland in Hamburg) go with this setting in a simple and effective way. If the system was converted to night lighting, this Sony model was really in his element and delivered impressive beautiful pictures.
The capabilities of this model for video recordings also turned out to be outstanding. It was simply amazing how this camera coped well with very low light. No noise in the absolute darkness in a recording as well as at all in critical conditions, the recordings were never dull.
The HX10V was limited but something in the video formats.
That's why I put myself after one year the HX20V to and redeemed for the HX10V on eBay still a good price. The HX20V opened up to me with 28Mbps AVCHD video in 1920 x 1080 and 50p. For a sensationally good image quality was possible that one may well call send suitable (I was TV journalist).

In a Hamburg trip last weekend, the HX20V tended to occasional spider. As far as I can tell, the drive for the autofocus after work turned not from, but sometimes ran on. Then a strange whirring was heard, and the camera was vibrating quite easily. Then she got a slight slap, the nightmare every time was over. So something that occurred not on a regular basis, but more and more often, and can therefore be described as time error was, for me is unacceptable, especially as the camera was only 1 year 4 days in my possession. She had, however, provided an incredible amount in that time. So now many scenes with a total length of alone were taken over an hour as video plus around 150 photo snapshots during trip through Hamburg.
Even in Hamburg I ordered therefore over a smartphone app at AMAZON DSC HX50V. I saw no reason to order the new successor HX60V because its wielded more power to me no charm. The small extra cost would not bother me, but older models for a while in the market are likely to be more sophisticated and more likely to have no teething problems. Similarly, thought I had at the time when ordering the HX20V HX50V takes a time already available. On the day of my return at noon appeared afternoon DHL messenger and delivered the new camera from here.
What perhaps might particularly appeal to me now, may have the WiFi capability. It is supposed to be possible to remote control a SONY-APP for Android Camera. PlayMemories Mobile has been downloaded and installed on a 5.7 smartphone, but not yet tried. I write here what I expect of them, namely the camera easy to post anywhere without it apparently continued to observe, but then to control from your smartphone. This is supposed to work well, so I'll tell about it later. It strikes me take children at play, without that they feel observed by a camera in front of the user's eye and pressed roughly. The first test of the HX50V after unpacking was a round thing. Because the essential functions are so familiar from the HX10 / 20V models ago. The HX50V weighs 21 grams more than ready for the HX20V, which probably originates from the larger well diameter lens.
The Custom button is migrated from the top to bottom next to the recording / play switch and no longer so pippelig. Everything else on the back has remained. The ON / OFF button is located not so stupid between microphone and zoom lever, but easily accessible up front right on the corner. The mode dial is moved to the top of the right edge of the next (now available) accessory shoe. On the far right is now a dial for exposure variations from -2 to +2. Its adjustment is obviously not effective in a fully automatic mode.
When viewing the first snapshots noticed that one can no longer 8x zoom into the images in the Enlarging pictures on the display, but only 4 times. What also stood out: In the camera FullHD videos extracted frames were of superior quality. The sensor and has been tested extensively is absolutely insensitive to glare or strong reflections from eg sunlight. No smear! Not the slightest negative conspicuousness. First HD videos were of such a good image quality, as it can offer in HD no station on a FullHD TV. Important seems (as before even with the HX20V) to provide, the recording sensitivity of the sound on low. That is enough to fully mitzubekommen the natural level of the environment when recording. Sudden very loud noise then beat not overwhelming. So it is of great advantage that this model offers two levels of sensitivity.
Now it's only once, to hose the camera properly in a short time. Technical quality or production weaknesses will show then quickly. Keeps them out of the remains to be expected that they will continue to hold out well.
More will be reported in a supplement. But one thing was already on too: The HX50V camera seems to be trimmed for very low power consumption. Nevertheless, two spare batteries along with external charger are ordered.

In the meantime, there were mainly reason to try the WiFi and remote serviceability.
PlayMemories Mobile SONY had already been installed on a 5.7 "smartphone with Android 4.2.2.
This app immediately recognized the camera, as these. In the settings on Wi-Fi and Ctrl was renovated by a smartphone. The camera responded by a confirmation and offered a password that must be entered when smartphone.
Short and sweet:
It could be switched to taking photos or videos. The zoom could be moved easily in both directions. The trigger for inclusion reacted promptly. The camera was standing on superior automatic because she likes are also so far away from the user at the remote so that it can make any adjustments to it.
Otherwise, everything else seems to have been already described elsewhere, particularly as this may correspond to the previous models in capacities up to 30 x optical zoom.
For the camera shoe, there is no use to the result to expensive SONY accessory. But if can find an appropriate adapter (the bottom of the shoe fit and top with a tripod screw), it might be worthwhile to install an existing ZOOM H1 recorder on top of the camera and to run with in certain cases. If that were successful, it will be here reported.
To date, there is no need to speak anything other than an unconditional recommendation for this model DSC-HX50V as high-performance consumer device. In the video section you even achieved professional qualities.
But the display:
Today there was plenty of sunshine. On the terrace of the Steeler Rowing Club right on the Ruhr a cold beer was a lot of joy. Less joy - namely, none - prepared the display of the HX50V, because it was good rather than make-up mirror in the blazing sun. But anyway:
Such sunscreen would be needed each Pocket whose display reflects strongly. This problem I can not blame the HX50V. But an outrageously expensive slip-Sony viewfinder I will buy under any circumstances.
EUR 449.00 (four hundred forty-nine euros) for a part where not nearly as much as technology can be included in the camera itself ... - that's hairy.
Even on eBay where the seeker of international offers is usually offered to the EUR 350.00, this part is still astronomically expensive.
Then rather go on as before with HX10V and HX20V.
