So:
1. General
- The cover is extremely appealing. 10/10 points
- For the production: The overall volume is already very high, which currently is typical for this genre (so wide dynamic margins like in the 80s you can stop no longer expected), but it is miles away from a sound mud like Metallica's "Death Magnetic" away. It is crystal clear and rich plants are the true qualities of this production only to light. 9/10 points
- Set List (general): Of course, again "typical" rock Kracher, drinkin 'songs and beautiful ballads included. The sequence is almost the same as in the precursors, however, as the final song 'Do not Ever Let It End' no party song such as 'Rock Star' or 'This Afternoon'. But why am really reinforced what big system change? AC / DC have sold over 200 after all so million albums worldwide. The range is large, there is something for everyone and the draw Nickelback also. They bring their diversity extremely authentic over (age plays in the rock 'n' roll Buisiness respect. Authenticity not matter!) 10/10 points
As the proverb "about the taste never !!!!!!! can argue" is! (De issue is clearly debatable) I will not go into the negative reviews unifier here on; you either love or you hate NB. Criticism is always subjective. However, one can objectively evaluate craftsmanship qualities also. Even if you do not like NB, so you have to simply praise the song: from Chad, and Ryan and Daniel. So many delicacies to be heard since, amazing! Goosebumps!
The same goes for the drums: of course, the tempos are all relatively the same (comfort zone of NB) and you can hear only used a "boom-boom-chak" BUT: when you listen more closely, Daniel Adair's class revealed: fine Ghost and Grace Notes, cleverly placed Hihat openings and great fills. Anyone from a (stadium) Rock Band - are played on the radio möchte- expected to odd meters like playing a 13/16 clock which is clearly wrong in NB -. And has no right criticism regarding Daniels' game express. 10/10 points
2.) Songs
'This Means War':
A great opener for both the album as well as a possible live version in 2012. A powerful guitar Brett (also great solos). 10/10 points
'Bottoms Up':
Hammer Song. Straight ahead drumming. Whoever gets no desire to celebrate who has barely vitality. 10/10 points
'When We Stand Together':
Very meaningful lyrics. In the beginning some getting used to. The mini- "Drum Solo" is great and after repeated listening is a first-class song. 10/10 points
'Midnight Queen'
Fastest song on the album. Again with wonderful uniqueness / ambiguous lyrics. ^^ 10/10 points
'Gotta Get Me Some'
THE surprise song! More can be to not say. 10/10 points
'Lullaby'
Well, this song gets symbolically 11/10 points, because this song is not of this world.
'Kiss it goodbye'
Also, a real rocker !! Incredibly great lyrics and the manner of performance is breathtaking. ^^ 10/10 points
'Trying Not To Love You' / Holding on to Heaven '
Soulful ballads. Both songs get under your skin and you begin to dream.
'Everything I wanna do'
GEIL !! The perfect last song for the concert cycle next year. This is really starting !! The end is great! 10/10 points
'Do not ever let it end'
A fitting conclusion to this great album. Finally, a ballad and not again a fun song (although are also top notch, but what is new but sometimes nice.) Great lyrics about men and women who persuade themselves again and again to be "just good friends" ... like in real life: D 10/10 points
Please Nickelback 'Do not ever let it end' to make good music.
In conclusion, that "Here and Now" is in my opinion the best album NB, especially after somewhat checkered "Dark Horse".
I give an absolute buy recommendation! (Of course, only for people who are open to new or already established Nickelback fans).
