The first song "Be Careful" shows this is more in the neck and is a rhythmic rather quiet and soulful song but comes across a bit livelier than the debut album. Particularly good effect here comes the soulful vocals of Max and the role played by Dirk Klinkhammer Tuba. Already here I have the impression that the sound and the sound quality almost more mature than on "The seeming And The Real" sounds (an impression which in the rest of the songs more than confirmed), the individual instruments are perfectly mixed together and come so to wonderful effect.
"Endangered Memories" also begins quietly and is very soulful initiated by the strings before the whole band begins and the song :) designed with increased speed to a proper dance Feger. Actually, surprisingly, the text of "Endangered Memories" is actually more thoughtful and melancholy, the folksy musical interpretation, however, which is also a bit what the Rock'n'Roll of the 60s, invites you to dance and once again captivates the listener Max with its versatile and soulful singing. It's brave but when words and music go to the part so contradictory routes this ambiguity makes the song even somehow.
The chamber has apparently learned to make from each festival performances their music danceable and "Endangered Memories" is the first perfect example of how this works wonderfully, the release concert in Frankfurt was the song one of many highlights.
In "The Line Of The Last Resistance" is heard then for the first time the reference chamber to Gothic scene, Max relies on very deep vocals and musically the song is very dark and has over quite what bands like The Mission and Fields Of The Nephilim. Initiated by a carillon gives "The Last Line Of Resistance" a sentiment which would be perfect for a Tim Burton film. Here is also shown in an impressive way as a band with a purely acoustic instruments can rock Ordinary, the band plays in the course of the song into a true noise and the violin solo makes at the end for both goose bumps as well as head banging heads (at the release concert in Frankfurt there was this applause for violinist Matthias Raue), as well as one or the other metal band can take a leaf out of it :)
Very minimalistic then comes the emotional ballad "Lest We Forget" over which is worn at the beginning of almost all of the acoustic guitar while later provide the strings for a lot of feeling. A fantastically beautiful song where the partly two-part singing of Max and Matze goosebumps makes.
With the three-part "Sophie's Circus" then the story of "The Orphanage" around the girl Sophie is retold after Sophie has escaped their orphans existence at the end of "The Orphanage" is now attracting them with their small traveling circus and the animals with which she has befriended, through the country. And the song title says it all, the whole has something of circus or fairground music already the instrumental first part provides an appropriate atmosphere as we know it from the circus, in the second part you can hear here and there the musical theme of "The Orphanage" out. The narrative voice of Max (here is somewhat reminiscent of Tom Waits or a whispering Nick Cave) and the "la la la la la la" part do to spread the rest of your order circus mood here shows once again the experiment chamber. The whole might sound unusual but captivating with every listening more and is easily implemented ingenious, this one can only say, "At dawn the circus has gone, but it's spirit lingers on" :)
"Praying Mantis" then loads similar to "Endangered Memories" to dance and impresses both with folky, rocky parts and with incredibly soulful strings and corresponding song. The whole ends in a great middle part where all chamber musicians strike up a little chorus and the Tuba specifies the clock. Immediately goes into the ear and in the legs :).
With "Slipping Around The Corner" there is a slight angle, the music that has a little of what a Seemanslied with its rousing, folky Parts for the dance also, mitwippen and invites the polyphonic chorus to sing along. Once again, a very ingenious dance number but unlike "Endangered Memories" and "Praying Mantis" a unique flair in the style of a Seemansliedes conveys.
"Mirror" is then a real goosebumps ballad, the release concert in Frankfurt Max announced the song as a kind of birthday song encourages them in the here and now to live as if every day of your own birth would. Instrumental works "Mirror" reduced to acoustic guitars, strings and a melodica the enhanced feel and goosebumps. Here also singer Max once again shows how versatile his voice is, in the verses he sings rather deep, in the beautiful chorus again a little higher and more extensive. In Frankfurt I had the chorus "Right here, right now, I'm alive ..." real tears in his eyes, "Mirror" touches the listener immediately and as I said, makes for true goosebumps.
Had I written with "Slipping Around The Corner" that it is slightly oblique? "Sinister Sister" is there still a plan, already the text at the beginning speaks volumes: "I got to tell you a story of a sickening atrocity, of Slaughter and a horrible frightening monstrosity". A delightfully macabre piece which, among other things as a singing saw effect extremely versatile with different instruments. This has been a bit of what a musical with Viennese charm and partly Viennese coffee house - hence atmosphere, not for nothing is the singer Max born in Vienna :). Just magic what the Chamber has conjured up here, a Tim Burton had here due to the macabre text surely his joy :). A little I have with "Sinister Sister" on the song "Ballad Of The Half Brained Man" and "The Truth About Snow-White" from Chamber (the former band of Max) think therefore come up with a similarly slanted text, but music but sound different.
"The Invitation" is again dominated by an acoustic guitar and strings, soulful ballad that invites you to dream. Just close your eyes and let yourself be enchanted by the music and the great vocal. In the middle part of "The Invitation" then shows Dirk Klinkhammer that even a tuba can produce an incredible amount of sense, then also sets the drums towards the end and completes this beautiful song perfectly.
Completed is the album from the two-part "Views from the Inside", the first instrumental part "A Midsummer Night's Dream" is classic and dramatic grand staged. Initially pleasant, quiet alternative to "A Midsummer Night's Dream" rears increasingly to and through the great classical Arrangment I feel a little on the Trans Siberian Orchestra and the classical arrangements of Savatage recalls (if that does not say anything I can these two bands very create heart). While "A Midsummer Night's Dream" it is as I said, more and more based on the second part, "A New Day Rising" suddenly quiet and Max submits the text of a new day ahead in the style of a storyteller.
What should I say great, "Season II: Views From The Inside" is already beginning as indicated one step further than "The seeming And The Real" and is a great advancement. The chamber shows varied than ever and provides already a musical highlight of the fledgling music from 2014, I'm already assuming that it will be my personal highlight this year.
I can only visit each recommend one of the upcoming concerts. Currently there is a joint tour with Schandmaul at where I can well imagine that the Chamber wins some Schandmaul fans for themselves, on 04.25.2014 plays the chamber then a private concert in the Cologne Kulturkirche!
A nice detail is the way that "Views from the Inside", as already erähnt beginning, has been released on Valentine's Day, in the booklet, there is the following note or invitation as you can enjoy the best CD :):
