I can largely connect me basically the criticism of J. Muhl, he describes very well what I was thinking. And here we are again very quickly when it comes to a matter of taste. My review is so far intended that the reader can think about what flavor group he belongs and he is then expected approached by Kaleidoscope. Those who like something catchy and rather has a lot of Neal's beautiful melodies, is the Whirlwind certainly have consistently more delight than in Kaleidoscope, especially when it comes to "Into the Blue", where disharmony clearly have the upper hand. Actually amazing because not only at Neal's solo albums, there is hardly in this strong form, the Flower Kings have retained with such Gefrickel last significantly. The opener is therefore for Neo-Progfans extremely getting used to, but of course, is precisely why those excited that something like to hear and like to love even when Dream Theater a little more harder or gloomy "Gefrickel". For my taste, but that is just an exaggeration, but then halt different tastes. By contrast, the boys prove for me the longest song, the title track, again the very special class that is almost unique in the Prog scene for me, who knows how to inspire. Therefore making a previous Transatlantic fan certainly absolutely no fault with this whole again very successful album, in which the shorter songs like Shine and Beyond the Sun (great ballad) are also very catchy, just nice to hear. By contrast, I have to find a way to find a gradation to the two predecessors, who simply have fewer weaknesses, regardless of whether you prefer to listen to much or little of Neals music style. Therefore, still very good 4 of 5 stars, but not the full score as in the two predecessors.
