Who "The Last of the Mohicans" a faithful reproduction of the original novel by James Fenimore Cooper expects the produced 1992 film, will inevitably be disappointed, as the film is only loosely based on. Without these expectations can look forward to a completely successful adventure film, however. The viewer dives into the world of men who lived in the 18th century on the North American east coast. British and French fought for control of the continent, English settlers tried to achieve an independent life and the indigenous people concluded alliances with the competing European powers. Against this background, you get to know the main characters - Chingachgook and his son Uncas, the two last of the Mohicans, and Nathaniel, the white son Chingachgooks, which is also called "Hawkeye". Besides the realistic yet not "brutal" battle scenes, the viewer remains primarily a love story between Nathaniel (Daniel Day-Lewis) and Cora Munro (Madeleine Stowe), the daughter of an English officer, remembered. The interplay between the actor's voices, the individual rolls are excellent occupied. Beautiful landscapes and an excellent soundtrack complete the film.
