That's very nice before. I had a bit hesitant to buy the 7270, because I was doing in the first place to the cable clutter, and I features like draft-N and landline support is not needed - and also of the DECT function I expected me not much, given the streaky reviews for the topic here and elsewhere.
Still, the money was truly worth it. The configuration is very simple - the laity should have no problems, and "professionals" (formerly were called the well "Freaks") for up to display the DSL attenuation values and the setting of voice codecs for VoIP lots of details.
At least for me (? Or because the latest firmware) the DECT works fine (with a quite betagtem Ericsson DT200) - the range is not a bit worse than with the original base. Who thinks he has because of the old DECT base a power-hungry in less clutter should be remembered that the handsets anywhere must also be loaded as before but ...
VoIP (here: Carpo) works reliably and in perfect quality. The connection of fax equipment should thank T.38 support not be a problem. Positive surprise: The Fritz box can again assume independently faxes, and then send the email them via PDF - so you need neither a fax machine, yet one has to one of the little hoffähigen Free services with 0180x- or 03xx- code use. However, there are (still) no Faxweichenfunktion this, there must be a dedicated (VoIP) number to be set up, but yes no problem.
I had expected to have to install additional features for an alternative software like "freetz" - though what that previously not necessary, the functions are all very well thought out. You can connect eg a USB stick, and make the data there with the built-in FTP server on the Internet - without any additional software. Many Dynamic DNS providers are directly supported, you can configure other easily.
My transfer rates on a 16Mbit connection of Hansenet have increased dramatically with the 7270 - with the included Hansenet modem and a Siemens wireless router I got when FTP downloads to a maximum of 1000 to 1200 KB / s - now I reach to fast servers by 1850, that is very good 15400 Kbps. In the uplink, the values of 128 KB / s are even better than the provider promises (Tip: Who does not need the splitter, can without him get even a little bit more than without). Better it could not be.
Conclusion: this is really the "egg-laying Wollmichsau" that one imagines. Everything inside, everything, easy to manage for the average user, and a lot of room for improvement for hobbyists and "professionals".
Why still only 4 points?
1. The LAN ports support only 100 Mbps, no Gigabit Ethernet. If you want to use the box as an Ethernet router, or wants to access connected to the box hard drives, the will disturb.
2. In the box offered here is only a (Y) cable attached that you connect to the DSL splitter - which is not required when DSL-only connections. So if you do not want to have lying around a useless splinters (and on top of that a free end of the Y-cable for the telephone connection), the need to buy a new cable.
Still, a great product, must themselves "professionals" to admit - to compliment the developers of AVM!

Addendum 24.6.2009:
o is the Faxweichenfunktion (as described in the comments) is now implemented in software and works beautifully
o now I have also tried 802.11n; the profit was much better than expected: in comparison to the old 54Mbps adapter from Asus, the speed setting has to factor 3 to 7 improved as measured by a "LogiLink Wireless LAN USB 2.0 adapter 300 Mbps 802.11n" (Ralink chipset (!) ) under Linux
Even after almost a year so I am still very happy with the 7270th
