1. As an IT Pro of course, as always, "Never read the f ... ing manual". Especially not when it comes to a normal consumer product. This time I had to jump over my shadow but and a look into the manual throw ^^. Because the installation was not as easy as it tries to suggest advertising.
The problem arises especially when trying to set up the adapter with the Mac version of the dLAN Cockpit. So you can Although the adapter with the relevant Security ID integrated network to bestehene DLan, a button for "eingebauchten configuration interface" Give it under the Mac version does not / in the Windows version of the way already.
I had then helped me with it, as I could not find the IP address of the adapter in my router. For normal consumer this is in my opinion definitely too complicated.
2. The second criticism is aimed at the wireless timing of the adapter. My joy over the option is not expected again passed quickly, when I read the "fine print":
"Please note that the wireless network is never off, as long as there are connected stations. It waits until the last station has logged in before the wireless network is turned off"
In times where smart phones, tablets and other devices are always-on, this limitation makes a wireless timing simply useless.
Because I know that these reviews are read by Devolo itself, the last sentence is addressed directly to the manufacturer:
Both cited criticisms could be remedied with a software / firmware update.
