So far I am completely satisfied with this purchase, the many options allow it to use the camera even in difficult conditions, even if there is no manual adjustment for shutter / time. The operation would also certainly not optimal in the compact body and in these cases I take better get back on the DSLRs.
Of course, the AW120 can not keep up with my DSLRs in picture quality, it was not to be expected at this price difference but. I have made some test photos to get a feel for the possibilities of the AW120,
Test cameras:
Nikon D7000 with 16-85mm
Nokia Lumia 920 Smartphone
Samsung S4
Nikon AW120
The results have absolutely convinced me, sure the resolution and noise performance in the D7000 were better, but only at high magnification also disturbingly visible. The exposure was almost of the same quality. In direct comparison, the Nokia 920 and the Samsung S4 cut significantly worse, both in the resolution and during the exposure and the noise figure (here is the S4 particularly bad) in the darker passages.
My conclusion: Those looking for a compact, robust camera with good image quality and extensive features, is certainly not disappointed with the Nikon AW120. Strong buy recommendation from me!
