After I stopped the lens in the hands, the big shock came: big and heavy - well, a fast lens with continuous 2.8er bezel "must" be just dimensioned. And then came the first pictures: to try it a couple of animals or plants, and then the two "large" bets in football (junior and 4. league) - and since these events I will never give it never ever again out of the hand , Admittedly, the autofocus takes longer than ev with a USM or HSM lens, but is still fast enough to indemnify the desired aerial duel after a corner;. a point in the vicinity was first focused, Auto Focus is immediately there - only when adjusting the focal length and a completely different focusing (eg in the foreground rather than in the background), it takes a little longer - at very fast sports such as ice hockey, it could therefore rather problematic will; for soccer, it is sufficient MMN completely. Then came the viewing on a PC (shots at ISO 200 the morning the young and ISO 100 in the afternoon in the 4th division in Aperture 2.8 to 11 and exposure at 1/40 - 1/4000): brilliant, natural color reproduction and sharpness to the smallest detail. Even the image stabilizer actually did not go off my (all photos from the hand shot without a tripod), only a handful of photos shaky (but this was my fault - what else). An absolute alternative to the original Canon lens to one-third or half the price.
EDIT (16:11:09): In the meantime I use addition (if the situation requires) a Kenko 2.0 converter and am even more fascinated by the lens - the AF sits still and Abbildunsleistung is still brilliant (what the lens and converter speaks;) - in low light conditions (dusk, floodlit)) I'll just work in manual mode, otherwise still enough the Aperture Priority.
