And I have to tell you right away that James will certainly win with "Moon Landing" no new fans. Who previously could not stand his music, will probably not be able to even now. Valuers his music but can look forward to a James in top form - the album has everything you could wish for.
Already the first sounds of "Face The Sun 'picked me up. The instrumentalization is here perfectly and James singing does the rest, to add magic here an atmospheric ballad as an opener, which takes in the second half to train.
With "Satellites" follows a more pop number, in which again make the same the first bars so curious about the song that you can hear him inevitably to the end. That would be a wonderful choice for the second single, would certainly make good on the radio.
After the single "Bonfire Heart", which can already won deserved success, James Blunt proposes with "Heart To Heart" peppy tones on before with "Miss America" an utterly charming tribute to Whitney Houston in the form of a spine-tingling ballad follows which must be clearly considered among the best songs of his career.
In a similarly high level remains "Moon Landing" in the center with the usual class produced heartbreak ballads "The Only Ones" and "Sun on Sunday" and the equipped with subtle electronic beats "Bones".
But my personal album highlight is "Always Hate Me". Wow, here everything is just right: The verses build ever neatly on drama, which then culminates in an emotional chorus - so convincing and beautiful James Blunt has his despair never rübergebracht :) A good song, for me the very best James Blunt at all! For a single is "Always Hate Me" well but unfortunately gloomy fare.
After this feel-bomb "Moon Landing" is still not over, but the conclusion made James more relaxed than the tracks in front of it. "Postcards" is a relatively easy, but by no means banal country pop song, an instant earworm, which also has the potential for a future single. With "Blue On Blue", which sounds a bit different from the rest of the album, but certainly not bad, is a pop album to an end, I have clearly counted on now allerallerbesten of 2013 - unless one hears the deluxe edition, then one may in fact looking forward to three more masterful numbers of James Blunt, under which "Hollywood" is especially recommended. And the great thing is: With each listening test is "Moon Landing" even more beautiful!
Thus James Blunt has continued unchallenged hold the place of my favorite male singer. He simply has a knack for dreamy melodies and expressive pop songs and ballads with feeling.
