Who is a typical need for speed expected here should ever keep her hands off the game. Shift is for nothing more (except for the fact that it is a racing game) to do with its predecessors.
This game is rather with titles like "Race Driver GRID - Platinum" or (even if only partially) to compare "Gran Turismo 5 Prologue Platinum".
Need for Speed Shift is a successful mix of arcade and simulation. This should be borne in mind in any event before buying - what many have not done apparently here. Since it is completely understandable that upset some on the "bad" controller.
To control:
Honestly - has only one of the people who say the control is "failed ..." or looked "spongy" in the options? Apparently not. If you switch all racing aids from some car control very, very difficult. You have to practice only one millimeter in the wrong direction steering and already one turns in circles. This has little to do with realism, true.
BUT:
In the options there are many settings that facilitate driving. People who have the above-mentioned problem to fight, should simply switch on the stability control - even the car can be again controlled perfectly.
There are also a lot of settings that directly affect driveability. Among other things, there can be the problem of "over-sensitive steering wheel" solve - even without turning on the driving aids (if one is too vain for ;-))
Control is everything but bad - every car drives differently, you can slide perfectly with a little practice through the corners.
-------------------------------------------------- -
Criticisms:
- The control can not remap itself - we are thus obliged with the Analaogstick steer (I prefer the directional pad).
- Rare, minimal stuttering but the situation a result can be very annoying
- In online mode, there's no damage model
- The sound is occasionally misfire
Positive:
- Gameplay
- Very successful Mittendrin Feeling
- Pretty graphics
- Ingenious, unprecedented sense of speed
- Control (NOT KEYS) by tweaking Individually adaptable
- Good mix of arcade and Simulation..je on how to make the settings (driving aids)
Overall: 4/5 stars. Shift has a few little quirks - but my goodness. A look at times but what happened to the series ist..ProStreet, Carbon and now this. A more than successful comeback!
And please stop with the Shift Dirt 2 compare. Both games are great, but nevertheless they are absolutely not comparable.
