Maze without Frankie Beverly - it's like Christmas without candles and songs. On this beautiful compilation Beverly's voice comes to full fruition. Is admirable how his incomparable voice sounds, never worn over the 15 years which can reminisce the CD (due also to the extraorbitant good and remastered recording). Of course, the early first Maze productions the years 1978 - 1983 the best, because really "very funky" and absolutely handgschnitzt. There are real thoroughbred musicians at work! With curdling beat and drive, can not compare with the ill-fated "softener productions' 90s. Also Maze was it infected - unfortunately. Nevertheless - at the 18 great pieces on the CD is absolutely nothing to worry until the penultimate track "Silky Soul". "Silky Soul" sounds like Entertainer on a village festival with bräsiger atmosphere. Frankie - so please do not! Stick to your roots, the unadulterated radio! Maze for ever - immortal good music! Absolute Anspieltips: "Feel That your're Feelin '"; "Southern girl" and of course (unfortunately only in the live version) the supernal "Happy Feelin's".
