I have the Tivoli Model One seen at a friend in the bathroom and sample belongs. Especially the great sound (but the design) has so impressed me that I had to have a device immediately so. The price research it but then shocked me something where this Tivoli is located. So I looked around for alternatives and came to the WR-2 from Sangean. Since only very positive reviews templates I ordered the unit via the Amazon Marketplace, which also went smoothly as on Amazon even usual. I have the equipment unpacked, plugged in and turned on. About the tuning I immediately found some stations that can be easily stored. The sound is really incredibly well, even in the large living room. Even weaker stations receives the WR-2 compared to my tuner with wire antenna excellent. Since the radio was planned as a Shower Radio, I have placed it there and am really impressed in the small tiled bathroom of the great sound. Even with an MP3 player to the AUX input sound on the radio fantastic and it reaches a level that is not normally needed in the bathroom. I have measured the power consumption. With the built-in transformer and the lighting at its lowest setting, the device needs good 3 Watt. As I still had a very good plug-in switching power supply with 12 volts left, I plugged the radio in this way over the 12 volt input and lo and behold, the radio now only needs 1.5 watts in standby. This can get over even in continuous operation. A battery as the Tivoli One would still rather have been, but this is impossible so. Potentially, you can connect a 12-volt battery, but this would have a certain size and you would have him now and then to charge, especially if you brighten the time with the integrated lighting.
But there are still two tidbits that to touch the great picture of the device, but not so much that by a star of given five is at risk in my review:
5 presets are really lower minimum, by a double occupancy would be 10 easily doable. Especially in larger families there different flavors of music.
Unfortunately, the remote control does not work really well. Due to the sleek design a 3mm infrared LED was used. This has a very small beam angle. If I have to point the remote control anyway just in front of the radio, so that the settings are changed, I can hinfassen also equal. The function of the side unfortunately bad. But the bathroom is so small that I did not have to go far and for the shower, the remote control would not be suitable, because not waterproof (This would be in my eyes for the bathroom a sensible matter how effective it is in the kitchen or in other rooms I have not tried). I am considering if I was still a WR-2 for the kitchen Buy, since it is an absolutely great device.
