The panel is with me now half a year in operation - as lighting for a 240 - liter aquarium (freshwater)! It replaces a light box with 3 pieces 35W Leuchtsoffröhren. I'm saving by nearly 2/3 of the previous power consumption at a constant operation 12 hours per day. Required was to however the construction of a closed-top frame (made of wood), for which I did prepare me the necessary parts, side walls and roof, the wood cut with millimeter precision, thus had to perform only screwing and gluing. Therein lies the Panel on 10x10mm wooden slats on all sides, can not be sagging. The length of the panel with 120cm corresponded to the length of the aquarium. At 30 cm width of a strip of 40cm wide 10x120cm Aquariums remained free, which has several advantages. Plant growth has suffered in any way, suggesting that the light spectrum corresponds to that of the previously installed plants fluorescent tubes. The supplied transformer required I have attached but not inside, but outside the box on a side wall, because it is very hot and I was taking no chances. The panel with its absolutely uniform light distribution, the aquarium with at least 50 cm depth of water illuminated very well to the ground. Fish and plants thrive absolutely satisfactory. Given the enormous prices for industrial LED Aquarium Light boxes, this solution is to be regarded as a classic "bargain". I can only recommend to my colleagues aquarists, it is also to try it.
