The Young Girls of the Empire, Volume 1: Heloise, resident at the Legion of Honor (Paperback)

Customer Review

I got embroiled in this story that mixes suspense, History with a capital H and ambition. The story is set during the Napoleonic Empire. Heloise, the heroine entered a boarding school of the Legion of Honor to learn to become a woman ... helpful helpful at the time it is to be a good wife to her husband and a good mother to her children. Unfortunately for Heloise, it is not enough, she is ambitious and dream of another life. She wants to be the person she always dreamed of being.

I loved this book proves that you can always become the person you want despite what the company suggests. Writing is more sought after than in most novel for teens, however it is not fatal. It is a well written book that will appeal to teens from 12-15 years. I had a little trouble with the many references to good faith but without this element of history would not have sounded right.

I admit that it made me want to read the other volumes.
