~ Think SESSIONS FOR LONG GAME:
- First, know that this keyboard is very wide (51 cm) and that it will find a place on your desktop. It is wired and connects via USB.
- The keys are very reactive but also thick and strong. I want to emphasize the interest of the backlight, a very useful feature when using their PC at night and that also helps to know what macro profile is activated. In addition, you can customize the backlight as you want, which is quite nice.
- A point often criticized this type of keyboard is the hardness and the sound of the keys. Each judge the thing to use.
As for me, I actually found a little noisy keys on a keyboard with keys "flat" (as my Microsoft Keyboard 3000), but that was not shocked beyond measure.
Anyway, if you plan to type a novel while someone sleeps next, I think that there are more suited to this use keyboards - including among LOGITECH.
- The right of the keyboard, there are buttons to control playback of music or videos. Among them, the big wheel will be appreciated to adjust the volume because the mark very quickly, even in the dark.
- The presence of a large wrist rest is also significant, especially during prolonged use.
3 ~ 18 MACROS AND CUSTOM BUTTONS:
Apart from the reactivity of keys, I think the presence of 18 customizable keys (54 possible macro functions via 3) is the main attraction of this keyboard.
Their use requires the installation of a fairly easy although a little too greedy access software into RAM (15 MB RAM permanently consumed).
You can easily create different profiles for different applications and program the keys or via the pilot program, either on the fly via the button "MR". You can program shortcuts, more or less complex combinations, as well as bits of text.
Some programs would be directly recognized and profiles are automatically suggested, but I have not experienced it.
~ ELEMENTS not necessarily ESSENTIAL BUT SOME should appreciate:
- The presence of a backlit display that can display a bit all you want is the element most light, the "fashion" ... but also the most controversial. The idea me the interesting air but until then, I have not found a real interest in the thing.
And I particularly regret the RAM memory consumption .. this little gadget that should run around 20 MB, if you do not think to clean in the supplied program.
Leaving only the clock and monitor the RAM and CPU, I turn at about 8 MB of RAM.
Otherwise, I note that none of my games - mostly published before 2006 - is natively supported by the small screen. Also, my attempts to install an applet for Counter Strike Source were not successful. Too bad ...
- More interesting is the presence of two jack ports to plug his headphones and microphone to the sound card on the keyboard.
It is also possible to mute the microphone with an easily accessible button is still something useful.
Info about the test environment:
Keyboard tested on a desktop PC with a hardware configuration dating from 2006 (2Ghz CPU, 2GB Ram).
The keyboard is fully recognized under Windows XP and Windows 7. The driver installation and customization of keys have no problem.
NB: It would be a shame to use such a good keyboard without a mouse worthy of the name. To accompany this keyboard, I also recommend the Logitech gaming mouse G500, the same manufacturer so.
