An old school adventure

The Moment of Silence brings the first Preview instantly wonderful memories of adventure classics of yesteryear. The venues are drawn lovingly and full of little details. The controller has a classic point'n'click style and really needs no explanation. Nevertheless TMOS has long designed not so colorful and witty, as we know the when The Day of the Tentacle or comparable titles. The Moment of Silence takes place refreshingly seriously and builds like a good thriller, the tension moment by moment more and more on. The gloomy sci-fi story of the game is based on Orwell's vision of a total surveillance state. But that is not to say that humor would be a foreign concept. The game has quite a charming, if not superficial wit.

In the game you assume the role of Peter Wright, a Kommunikationsdesigener who has lost his wife and his son in a tragic plane crash. After the accident Peter lives aimlessly from day to day, but that changes abruptly when one day his neighbor, a respectable citizens, is discharged by a SWAT team. Peter chooses the wife of the neighbor and her child to help and to make inquiries about the respectable husband. Without knowing it, Peter caught more and more in a web of intrigue and conspiracies, from which only you can help him.
Graphically TMOS is very well done. The environments are very detailed and loosened up with subtle animations. While the backgrounds are completely in 2D, the characters of the game are based on 3D polygon models. Unfortunately, this sometimes means that the image looks a bit sterile. But instead compensate the magnificent scenes that are high on the level of Final Fantasy.
A real highlight of the game is the most expensive German synchronization. The main character, for example is added with the voice of Manfred Lehmann (Bruce Willis). His neighbor Mrs. Oswald contrast with the dt. Voice of Julia Roberts. But even the supporting roles are occupied very professional to the smallest speech Part.
