With a style that is both dense and clear, Adam Tooze study gives us a quite remarkable over Nazi economy from 1938 to 1945, distinguishing both the workings of its mechanisms and springs of his propaganda. Economic thus intimately binds to the political and material history to that of representations. Indeed, as the author points out with strength, prosperity of the Third Reich falls largely a propaganda company, led among others by the famous Albert Speer, to whom a whole chapter is devoted. Conversely, the succession of Nazi power strokes and the Blitzkrieg strategy are specifically intended to alleviate the German industrial deficiencies, particularly in the armament plan. In support of theses defended, we appreciate the rigor of the critical apparatus and the presence of tables and graphs, that facilitate the reading of sometimes complex phenomena.
