The new "Windows" interface seduces the retina, but the effects last "wow", I quickly returned to the classic desktop.
The problem is not just to change habits. The problem is to find a use for this new interface.
I have searched the "store" other applications to try to take advantage of the new interface, but I found nothing really exciting or useful.
In fact, there are only the "mail" applications and "music" I use occasionally. Nothing essential actually ...
From there to ask "what is the new interface?" ... Well, I'd say that at present it has no interest on a PC "classic".
Maybe Microsoft will revise its copy to develop the concept and offer truly useful applications. But now, I am not convinced.
Regarding the "traditional" office, I would draw attention to the shortcut bar that appears to the right of the screen, with fast access to the functions "search" and "Settings". Something new that I found quite handy.
For the rest, the real interest of this is in Windows 8 new features, not necessarily very visible but significant. I think about:
- The "discount" which already allowed me to start with a blank system - with an uninstall all programs and conservation of documents. Certainly, we do not do that every day, but it can be downright useful when we encounter serious enough problems on his PC.
- The preservation of the history of personal files. The interest of such a function is so obvious that one wonders why Microsoft has not done before?
- The ability to synchronize files on a remote server, SkyDrive screws.
For me, this is where the real interest of Windows 8. But I do not think this is enough to advise a migration to Windows 8, especially with Windows 7 that has proven, both in terms of ergonomics, Stability and compatibility with software and peripherals currently available.
Otherwise I have not encountered any problem during the update (except that it takes time) - and I have found that very few incompatibilities at my programs.
Note that I still do not have access to the "Quick Start" function of Windows 8, and it because of a rather old board for which there is no driver.
