And yet, I have more adores this game. I've eaten.
Why? Let's say, I think, two points make it a masterpiece.
First, I think the overall game writing: history, without being exceptional originality, arrives to condense the great classics of the genre, while adding a good dose of black humor. Similarly, the characters, and that's really where I was most surprised, while also containing the archetypes of Western, have been reworked with such intelligence that they eventually became much higher than what I ''ve seen in many films.
The rich dialogue gives life to the heroes and discreetly gives the whole of the substance. These are not mere shadows programmed, but the protagonists with a credible psychological depth.
In short, the work is so good that for the first time, a game really manages to make me feel something in his conclusion. Congratulations to the authors of Rock Star.
Then I can evoke the splendor of atmospheres. I speak of atmosphere, because if the sets, and graphics in general, are of great beauty, music and sound effects take a significant role in the player's immersion in the world of Red Dead Redemption. I think in particular, after some bursts shares at these lovely melodies to folk guitar, adorned with a rocky song, that illustrate the transition to a new milestone of the game.
Whether in an American city in the middle of the desert, in the mountains, in the streets of a city being upgraded or in a small Mexican church, the illusion is there. We eat dust, one cold grelote there sweating profusely ...
I could mention the wide variety of proposed missions, numerous gambling, shooting contests, hunts the bear, the taming of wild horses, herdsman of work, etc. This would not be wrong, but not as feature of this game (at least not since GTA 4).
Red Dead Redemption is a great game, a reference that manages to reconcile with the Western world.
