The smell of urine is not rid of the wood - and so we stink this cage mitlerweile huge! Cleaning is only possible - because the fragrances may just move well in the raw wood. I tried using grit to stock the floors - as absorbent material, which was then simply be cleaned at frequent intervals ..... but in the long term will not help really.
Now live the 2 for one week only on the floor. But the cracks of the floor plate and side walls were anyway immmer bigger and just the necessary for this Renner 'bathing sand', which is often thrown by them himself out of the bath, so trickling in 'our residential floor'. This phenomenon I wanted a fully enclosed cage system now really avoid!
The cage is from space certainly good - the quality of wood, it was already repeatedly called for here is absolutely cheap - which is nothing to add - but the price is indeed just low ..... what can be expected there ???
The small nails that will hold everything together quickly exposed by the gnawing of mice and put the risk of injury is for them. And I also also the lower litter tray is not deep enough. Just like gerbils dig corridors and to the drawer height offered here is not enough definitely.
This cage is not really cheap but just cheap but in my opinion and short-lived! For someone who likes to often 'newly set up' and it wishes to maintain for his pets, he certainly is not bad - but a long-term accommodation for rodents, it can provide but to be desired.
Even and especially in terms of hygiene as an artificial life-world, the material is probably not top glass! And so I will now give it a 2nd time to spend money to get a large terrarium or aquarium and embellish yourself! I would make right the first time to ...... well, maybe my experience will save you money?
