As many fans / ex fans, I wanted to believe in this homecoming. Album purchased the day of release, good surprise: the first track "That Was Just Your Life" pummeled well, is fast and efficient as well in the old days. The voice has aged and denotes a bit in this energy boost but the song is good and you will not sulk his pleasure in discovering it. Things quickly spoil thereafter, the following pieces lack of identity, are often devoid of grip and seem quite disjointed. The semi ballad "The Day That Never Comes" is effective but difficult to name another title that would come out of the lot. The album is long, uniform and could very well have been composed by a computer as the riffs are generic. The interpretation also lack of soul is clean but too mechanical, almost robotic.
