I had the AquaClear 70 about 6 weeks in use. He was then replaced by an Eheim Professional External Filter. The new external filter has advantages but also disadvantages. If my pelvis would not glass quest allowing me only the lateral attachment of the AquaClear 70, he would probably still be in operation. The lighting (OTL) could not be optimally secured. Disadvantages of Aquaclear70: He is not super quiet as the Eheim External filter and not as quiet as the Aquaclear20 the still runs as an additional filter in the pool. In addition, the cover helps that you can hear the filter even more. One should therefore dampen the lid with foam if it appears to loud. Advantages: Very good Wassserzirkulation and filter performance. Good flow regulation, very easy to clean, placement of your choice, complete with ceramic rings and filter fleece me up. Safer from inaccuracies as external filters (hoses). Overall, I think the AquaClear series for the best filter on the market as a whole. They bring the most benefits. Other Hang On filter I had in operation. For example Fluval C series. Very similar to the Aqua Clear, but not so universally usable with the many filter chambers. One is forced at Fluval more to the original filter media and that costs a lot more money. The Eheim 2042 I had. Actually, a good filter, but very little filter surface and only the top surface movement of the water. The Eheim 2042 was a bit quieter than the Aquaclear70. In summary, I think the HangOn solution with the best. It offers a large filter volume, easy to clean, see from the outside how the condition of the filter media is, high security against leakages, takes away no space in the pool, even less than pot external filters is very easy. Of all used me HangOn filters seems to me the AquaClear series best.
