The Golden Age (Audio CD)

Customer Review

One has sometimes to think outside the box. I, who actually primarily enthusiastic for rock and metal, other styles of music over'm always open; they must be able to just convince me. "The Golden Age" of Woodkid as this contrived. Hear I'm on the music when I heard "Run Boy Run" by chance. "Sounds interesting," I thought to myself. After a few auditions I ordered the album. The genre of Woodkid can be difficult to categorize. Somehow it is a mixture of pop and orchestral soundtrack. The numerous strings and brass are often accompanied by drums, this is joined by the deep voice of Yoann "Woodkid" Lemoine. Times the songs are orchestrated bombastic, then reduced again only on voice and piano. The melodies remain in the memory, and a certain melancholy is pervasive. In the texts, a continuous story is told, so you can speak of a concept album. The legitimate question is: Is this now mighty epic or patethischer Kitsch? I opt for the former, but can understand when someone sees it differently.
