Art or kitsch?

One has sometimes to think outside the box. I, who actually primarily enthusiastic for rock and metal, other styles of music over'm always open; they must be able to just convince me. Times the songs are orchestrated bombastic, then reduced again only on voice and piano. The melodies remain in the memory, and a certain melancholy is pervasive. In the texts, a continuous story is told, so you can speak of a concept album. The legitimate question is: Is this now mighty epic or patethischer Kitsch? I opt for the former, but can understand when someone sees it differently.
