As Blu-ray play ok but SmartTV has many faults

Philips BDP5700 / 12 Blu-ray Disc player with 3D playback (Miracast, Smart TV, USB) (Electronics)

Customer Review

The media libraries of ARD and ZDF, a reason to buy this device for my decision. Unwrapped, tried ...
Blu-Ray works great.

Then the area SmartTV follows:
First I start the ARD App "Das Erste" and am disappointed. The toolbar which claimed at the bottom 1/5 of the image remains visible and does not disappear. A Speak to factory settings brought no improvement.

As I got to know, there are obviously some Philips receivers for some time the problem is that in the
Media libraries of ARD HbbTV no longer hides the toolbar of the stop and pause button, etc. on its own. Affects of the media libraries of ARD, which is probably related to a software update.

At this point I already do not understand more how to deliver such a device.
But it went further ...

Game to continue in SmartTV Menu, you start apps because one does not know them or because you want to configure its menu and want to delete possibly Apps, then you get a few minutes to the point that no longer start Apps
incl. the App Gallery. Help bring back only a reset, which deletes the config and you start all over again.

The longer one is engaged in the device, the more mistakes you find.

Then you want to be with another app employ eg Netkino
(Tiled with 1) then goes, if you want to pause the movie nothing more.

Even turning off no longer works. Only disconnecting from the power supply still helps.

The next item in the main menu is "looking PC":
One overlapping the point PC looking at a DLNA server and example will look at his pictures, then you come back, although the folder, but you come from there but not back. This then works only on off or pressing the SmartTV button and from there it will return to the home menu.

After SmartTV not working properly, I wanted to see a movie about my DLNA server - if you manage from the DLNA server to download a movie, you realize that virtually no control is possible.
Start, pause, etc. do not work. The instructions, which actually only the short help texts from the setup of the player are printed form, nothing can be seen on the operation.

Meanwhile, I am convinced that the quality of the player is very questionable - at least the region SmartTV and access to PC.

Useability is not there and the hardware is already at power at the end of their forces.

I do not understand how you can bring to the market. A call to the support on the following day brought no success. It said that I had to wait for the next update. When that comes, you could not tell me.

The purchase was a mistake. Especially against the background that I've had a Blueray Philips at my second residence. This is now about a year old, a bit smaller, but also behaves this way. Nix learned it.

Too Bad.
