Respect. Transmission speed I can only say that I have copied a file used by me, normal SATA hard disk with 800Mbit / s (100MByte / s).
The bottleneck is probably in the hard disk, and the involved USB3.0 controller (of BIGtech u. Remote PC) would certainly still clearly room for improvement, which we test if necessary with an SSD, or ausreizen could.

If you want to use the device, or the hard drive, to a USB2.0 port (eg Blu-ray players with USB2.0, slightly older PCs with USB 2.0, etc. pp), then the part is only recognized if, instead of the supplied (blue) USB3.0 cable to another cable, just a USB2.0 cable, intends to find!
I wanted the device actually been sent back because I thought USB3.0 is fundamentally (and the cable) to USB 2.0 is backwards compatible.
This is true so but apparently not (as I search the internet then still found out), and presumably this is also not explicitly on BIGtec device, but can generally be in the constellation USB3.0 device into the USB2.0 controller happen (why I give the rating also no deduction).
So remember:
=> If you want to be able to connect this unit to USB2.0 controller, the Obtain a USB2.0 cable is probably mandatory, because the device will not be recognized by the operating system!
I could beschr above. Determine conditions for both my Samsung Blu-ray player (BD-F6500), as well as on various Windows-PCs (Win7 + Win8.1).
PS:
Since the included USB3.0 cable, with (only) about 50cm length, is relatively short (USB2.0) can contact the Alternative cable then also equal to procure a longer USB stripper.
Can distinguish one USB3.0 cable and USB2.0 cable, among others by the color of the inner part:
USB3.0 => inner part = blue
USB2.0 => inner part = black o. White
