I was looking for a simple wireless remote release at a fair price, and I came across the Meike Timer Radio Remote Trigger. My other wireless remote release all based on the use of smart phones, which basically satisfies me completely, especially as the existing solutions are really great, but now I wanted for some reason a solution without smartphone with a simple timer. There were previously no reviews because the delivery was carried out but on Amazon, I thought to myself, there is a risk only in the effort of a return, but this will not happen from today's perspective. I got the trigger on 01.15.2015 and could still be incorporated in this day and use it at the same following weekend on a shoot. Meanwhile, he has helped me with 4 shoots, put my photos and it is based this review:
I use the wireless remote release at a Nikon D5300 and Nikon D7100 two. All cameras still working properly.
The following points I consider to be particularly noteworthy:
1. Processing
The first time I have taken in hand the shutter, I thought, which holds not from here up to the camera, but far from it. It is very light, and I thought at first that he would hold out not much, because I am going to be relatively robust with my equipment, but weight has nothing to do with the processing. The top is and despite his pocket, dropped and agonizing manipulations he does not give the impression that he wants to give up quickly.
2. Function
First, it is noted that, as stated in the description, accompanied by only one English / Chinese instructions. I'm trying products but basically to understand without guidance and here I must say that the developers are obviously also photographers, because it took me almost 10 minutes to discover all the functions without the manual should be read only partially.
The transmitter does not turn off, so that it is equal to the number of products by competitors, but I did not feel as tragic. Now, after almost 4 weeks, no fatigue of the battery can be seen. The recipient in turn has an on / off switch. About the transmitter is used to set all the desired parameters, which then stores this. From my experience here, I assume that the transmitter actually transmits only the trigger signal to the receiver. This distinguishes it from my smartphone solutions, because there I can switch the phone off and the program is still processed. Thus, one can the transmitter after the start of a program not too far from the camera. Outdoors I have about 80 meters no problem found with the transfer, in the studio were 20 meters despite reinforced concrete walls no problem. Probably the radius can still expand, but more came and I did not want to get away from my camera. Since the transmitter has a clock, next to TimeLapse and other standard functions also show steered launches the programs are possible. All in all a complete package.
3. Price / Performance
I paid for the wireless remote release 55,90 euros including shipping. My Star Rating can therefore only on the price and the performance associated refer, in addition to the existing benefits. I think it offered price / performance ratio very good and forgiving love to 5 star. If this position changes, contrary to expectations, this will update here with an update.
Conclusion:
The Meike Timer Radio Remote Trigger met my expectations and I would recommend it at the moment fully. Allen, who are afraid of English instructions, let me tell you that this must be a reason, that trigger is not to buy, because the service opens up my view of itself. On a German operating manual to exist, would go here probably too far because I can not see that the manufacturer has planned a targeted sales in Germany, but is more active internationally, where the English language is native.
