In Detail:
The AKOYA MD99240 came with an ancient WIN8 and 2GB of RAM, and both are - even with my low expectations (see above) - in need of change.
Only the uploading of about 100 (!) Updates for Win 8 required about a day (and did not easily), but was necessary because an immediate update on WIN 8.1 refused the system. Then it took another 10 hours (!!), up 8.1 WIN ran, then again a dozen updates were einzuspielen.
(Although this effort in each WIN 8 - PC is necessary, it should be considerably lower at a time a "better" device.)
That reminds me of the AKOYA MD99240 well as the trimmed on WIN WIN 7 8.1-BS-liked, and otherwise the notebook up to my expectations, I have expanded it: replacement of 2GB RAM with a 4GB bars (cost 30), and installation of the SSD from my NC10 (the replacement for the old 160GB drive in principle still is a usable form.)
(By the way: The exchange of RAM and disk requires the AKOYA MD99240 expanding the keyboard and the switch to SSD is not trivial because due to the Secure Boot management of BIOS and the GPT partitioning the disk..)
Now I have for unbeatable 230 a full-featured, small, modern Windows system, with which I am satisfied in every respect; with a clearer screen, better equipment (eg. as USB 3.0, Bluetooth, Office H & S in 2013, longer battery life) and also much faster than the NC10.
Certainly, the AKOYA MD99240 could be a few hundred grams lighter, but that's pretty much the only one who still valid objection, in my view, and is not particularly serious given the price.
For me, less important, but worth mentioning: The AKOYA MD99240 does not just not cheap, but solid downright with its brushed surface, and also on small things has been thought: So the SD card disappears in the housing (rather than - as with the NC10 - susceptible to damage to stand out), and the AC adapter has a switch.
Conclusion: As a travel and secondary computer for users with basic PC knowledge excellent, otherwise rather: Caution!
