1. It is only since I have recorded my O2 with new firmware (version JA5 or JA3) and additional programs (NoData, OrientationDetection, ThumbCal, new and faster Main Menu, tom33_touch_sensitive_Omnia2_v2 etc.) have loaded, it works flawlessly. For example, the GPS was useless before the firmware renewal. Since then it runs fast and stable. The touch interface of the phones has become faster with the new firmware and the additional programs significantly more sensitive and the program call. The How to flash the ROM and the additional programs I've found for the most part in the super Forum Mobile FAQ. Note: Please read the instructions there before installing the new firmware exactly!
2. The smartphone is not a phone, but a small computer. The O2 is therefore for people who are looking for a simple and immediate to use mobile phone, rather unsuitable. The renewal of the firmware and the installation of new programs requires some computer skills and the joy and willingness to invest time and to deal with the phone, also because of the service of Samsung (manual, website) is simply ineffective. (The poor service from Samsung can also be seen as an advantage: It is with the O2 namely not dependent on the true good, but monopolistic and expensive services of a company, as is the case with competitors with the apple.)
It has two weekends and a few snide remarks to my family took me until the O2 satisfactory ran, I had the phone roughly elicited in all ways and automated operation for everyday use. Since then I am completely satisfied and would choose again for the O2. No cell phone on the market currently offers so much flexibility and performance for such a good price.
