While re-reading this book, I was struck at how prescient this Asimov: about computers and the mysteries of their apparent abnormal behavior. As a computer programmer, I see many similarities between the debugging software and subtleties of robopsychology. Dr. Susan Calvin, the undisputed expert in the psychology of the brain of the robot, is the stereotypical geek. It has been widely humorous, unattractive and had no romantic life, as Asimov predicted that we now see that the typical computer nerd personality. Considering only the stories of werewolf all written or before 1950, long before computers became ubiquitous, the accuracy of his stories regarding the increased use of computers is amazing. Remember thatthis was a time when most experts believed thatthere was a global market somewhere around a dozen computers. So we had no idea what made it possible to reduce the size of computers we have now. Asimov had to apply for a device called a positronic brain to explain. In the first story, there is love between a robot and a little girl, something has certainly realistic. The concern is the mother about the girl's affection for the robot and his insistence that he was walking the child's personality is quite predictable. There will always be people who are afraid of new things, while cars are now considered a necessity, at first reflected theywere monstrosities. Many of the other stories involving robots whose behavior seems unbalanced. However, after examination of the situation and stick to the three laws of robotics steadfast, the human characters are able to exploit the deterministic behavior reasons. This really struck a chord with me. There were so many times when I was convinced that my program is behaving mystery and contrary to what it should do. However, in all cases, a detailed analysis by following the rules of logic leads to the inescapable conclusion was that the operating nach innate programming computer laws. While the last story in this collection of stories about robots, it deals more with roles more and more computers in human society. The world was divided into major economic and political blocks, and computers to control almost every economic activity-. This story is one made is closer to the current situation, the growth of the Internet can be the first step in a thoughtful IT structure in the world to control the economy. I love these stories and I read this book about five times. Asimov is both optimistic and pessimistic writing about robots. He is optimistic the technology was not want to continue to advance dramatically, but is pessimistic about the degree of reaction. Opposition to the use of robots is a theme woven Throughout history, sometimes reaching the point of hysteria.
