The Astral Weeks 1968 a milestone of pop history - after all, ranked 19th of the top 500 in Rolling Stone - may be true. There are certainly the fraction keep Astral Weeks as an eternal masterpiece of Irish Knödler. I do not belong. The 68ers studio version has never been my thing. The voice of the then twenty-somethings was too young, based somehow on Mick Jagger, and yet without the subsequent serenity. The pieces: certainly remarkable for the then young musicians. And now the man is about 40 years later, therefore, with a live version. Exactly that is special: Van Morrison has managed to get more than 40 years a quality that other fellow musicians have lost out this time for a long time - if at all Music produziern - or are still alive (!). The Irish Grantler manages to again properly breathe life into this old plate. And that works just fine. The old pieces, come now to the earlier vote today and serenity - and really only in my ears - much better advantage than 40 years ago. Certainly Van the Man had a few guest musicians or times can provide an attractive singer to his side - one wants to also have something nice to look at. But given. As long as the man opens his mouth and sings, the world is in order. The concert will be on DVD. On YouTube and on Amazon.com, there's a preview of the concert. Even if the man barely moves on stage, hides behind hat and glasses and otherwise shows little action: CD and DVD are an absolute buy recommendation!
