By 2013, Petra was the German premium company WMF, since mid-2013 to the Dutch low-price manufacturers "Tristar".
Both machines are not only different in the modified logo: The plastic of the new machine works much cheaper and is more flexible than that of the old. On top of that it has for weeks (despite dishwasher wash) chemical smell. Also manages a nice foamy Milschschaum at the new machine much less frequently than the old, what could possibly also be related to the altered material of milk hose and the other Aufschäumerkomponeten.
With the new machine the Entkalkerprogramm not working for me! For descaling to 125 ml descaler UNDILUTED be filled. In the old machine that Entkalkprogramm starts after filling of 125 ml liquid. The new machine will continue to flash red because not enough liquid in the tank! I had the strong descaler diluted with water (- what a nonsensical approach -!), So that the program could be started at last! [Reaction of Petra see below]
Add to this that the customer has become much worse: In the old machine to me the lever is canceled. I called WMF and was put through to a helpful (Swabian) workshop employee who explained to me exactly how you can change this without damaging the machine. --- At Tristar there for Petra products no hotline! I had to write an e-mail because of my aforementioned Entkalkerproblems.Die company answered me after a few days (falsely!) That it is quite normal that the descaling agent should be diluted with water. DAS is wrong! In the instructions for device specifically states (p.37) "The product [= the descaler] is used undiluted [!!!], is highly effective and ensures reliable decalcification."
Conclusion: The old Petra was / is great and deserves 5 stars. The new Tristar produced Petra used (apparently) lower quality materials and customer service is absolutely wrong (availability, misinformation). In addition, the machine works (in my case) is not consistently (milk froth, descaling). Since the manufacturers change I would personally advise against a purchase! Here's a cheap product manufacturers seem to want to beat out of the good reputation of the previous manufacturer profit ...
