I am aware that I am responsible for the purchase of this book, because I have not paid sufficient attention to reviews. Indeed, reading the scores I had not grasped that "Old French" does not mean just born French. So much to tell you that this book is written from beginning to end in Old French and give you the meaning of this term; "Old French" means this kind of spelling: when pantagruel was born, which was well esbahy and perplex? (Page 45) or again was passing between the two tropicques ... all ... that night the estoyent avoyent ... (page 119) or even o my friend, dist pantagruel, sçaistz well what you dist Agesilaee when we asked him why the great city ... do not estoit ceincte walls (page 153) ect ect. Personally I like reading another language ... Maybe this book deserves more stars, may be even as the story is so good that it would compensate for reading difficulties ... the problem is that I have not managed to read it. At the end of a page, my reading was not a relaxation but an effort of intense reflection ... If you do, everything you read to the end, you'll have all my admiration. But I want to clarify that in the context in which Rabelais wrote this book, I think that reading must be interesting or informative. But I also think that there must editions in French ... "normal"
