AWESOME soundtrack!

The Lego Movie (Audio CD)

Customer Review

Although I previously felt Mark Mothersbaughs soundtracks as not quite so thrilling, so I was very pleasantly surprised by "The Lego Movie". The film is now my absolute highlight film in 2014, but will be a long time one of my new favorite animated films, I recommend here again urgently to watch this film, a masterpiece!
The music was in the film incredibly much strength and energy, so I was curious to see if they also hinbekommt this without pictures ... Yes, very simple!

Anyone who has seen the film, which is, of course, run with "Everything is super" (here in the original "Everything Is Awesome") in the ear around. No wonder, because the song has been specially designed to be on a catchy tune. Spßig and cool he is still ... "Everything Is Awesooooooome!" Now ichs again in the head!
The soundtrack comes with several versions of the song, an instrumental, an unplugged and then there's the opening track and the end credits version. Witty and clever, of course, the lyrics: ... when we stick together ... but also with respect to the surprising end.

But what convinces the score of Mothersbaugh (man, how many times do I have googled that name, so I can write it correctly). He processed the Awesome motif Everything Is into the score and turned it over the music in Emmet's motive to. This motif is unfortunately the only recognizable subject, but it works very well, especially when you hear the soundtrack several times.
Otherwise the music is pumped full of energy, there large orchestral interludes, with choir and all that goes with it, simultaneously mixes Mothersbaugh much Syntehsizer sounds in the music. Similar to Henry Jackman in Wreck It Ralph, only much more extreme: In places, the score sounds like a House album, but I think it's super.
The reason for this lies in the end of the film (SPOILER ALERT!): The film is set to yes in the mind of a child, thus making a lot of jokes and stereotypes sense. But the music works very well in that respect, because it is fast-paced and powerful, as well as a child's imagination. Very nice but is also quiet and really nice track My Secret Weapon, which places sounds like James Newton Howard, because here the father recognizes the creativity of his son and that's what gives the music, very dramatic and melancholic created.

Otherwise, there are many large-scale and epic sounding pieces. Action there with Escape or I Am A Master Builder, as well as witty allusions to genre (Into The Old West). Overall, the soundtrack has a great Hörfluss and offers with its duration of 58 minutes, everything you hear in the movie, unless of course things like the original Star Wars music by John Williams. But for that there are the delightful, sloping Batman song Untitled Self Portrait, which is also briefly alluded in Batman, so funny!

Conclusion: an entertaining and powerful soundtrack. Knowing the film makes the music really fun, because you remember the scenes and at the same time. To the fun and wonderful animations You do not know the film, the music sounds probably not quite as impressive, I like them anyway. And again: film movies, it's worth it!
