The success of the Beastie Boys album never jumps on first listen. "To The 5 Boroughs" is no exception to the rule. Behind the apparent simplicity of his compositions and a lot more gross than "Hello Nastie" hides 15 gorgeous beads, 100% hip hop, much more complex in that they look. Regrettably, however, the instrumental escapes at the crossroads of genres including the Beastie Boys had accustomed us since "Check Your Head". "To The 5 Boroughs" is only a step, a step backwards, a necessary balance (our 3 MC's just get through the quarantine) to better start looking for the "perfect beat". It is likely that the next album will arrive much faster.
