Laudable intention for that is ready, an appetite by the summary, to face a slice of dark, brutal and well murky atmosphere. Unfortunately, the novel does not work in my opinion not very well. A little complacent fascination for violence and sex, which occupy a large part of the book, wacky characters and sociopaths that we do not focus, lack of intrigue in favor of psychological confused clashes, all unfortunately far from enhanced by a rather banal and easy writing. It really is very average and we accept with difficulty the yawns of boredom before outrageous cliches that do not offend or challenge. Some passages about successful do not balance the scales.
Of course we do we worry, we 'normal' people, this kind of detestable character is a challenge, but a series as Oz managed it perfectly, making us sob in unison repeat offenders murderers. Here, we do not feel neither empathy nor hatred, just polite indifference. As impatience: that of seeing all these people to massacre conscientiously before finally move on.
