Bande original single, absolute masterpiece

The Umbrellas of Cherbourg is a unique film in the history of cinema. All dialogs, even the most banal, are sung. Music is permanent.
It is the work of two geniuses, Jacques Demy for the screenplay, dialogues (ie the lyrics) and setting scene, Michel Legrand for music.

The film may seem confusing, but after a few minutes the viewer is totally taken by this great love story about war in Algeria background.
The reward will be a Louis Delluc Award, a Golden Palm in Cannes, a popular success in France and abroad.

Sony has had the excellent idea to incorporate fully the soundtrack, ie the entire film, will add jazz times of major themes (Tony Bennett, Michel Legrand) and the working models and sung by Christiane Michel Legrand.
The result is the finest musical tribute to a movie I considered one of the greatest masterpieces of French cinema.
