Starting with the bombastic almost heroic sounds in "Barbarian Horde" to one of the most sensitive issues if not berührensten I've ever heard in a soundtrack (Elysium, Honor him, Now We Are Free). Hans Zimmer is one of his compositions unique in the Olympus of film composers ... but this far exceeds his successes as the impressive "The Rock" soundtrack, or the music for "Mission Impossible 2". I really can not recommend anyone to purchase this CD, it is clearly in the repertoire of a lover orchestral film music !!! Even if it was clearly overlooked in this year's Oscar ceremony ... This music is characterized on the one hand perfectly the heroic act Russell Crowe again, but contrasts on the other side with beautiful themes, the brutal and violent images of the film ("The Battle") , This CD is an absolute highlight in the history of film music.
