And "blame" is this gem of film music for the sci-fi action drama "Elysium" with Matt Damon and Jodie Foster ....
After the first few bars should one be clear that here a massive and melodic of its kind is coming up - and Amon is stoking still some in the course of this almost 72 minutes!
If you want to make comparisons, Ryan Amon's music could well between (or in addition) Hans Zimmer and Brian Tyler settle - massive recorded with a large symphony orchestra including stimmgewaltigem choir, targeted use of electronic "support" (which in some tracks the " starring "assumes), pulse floating rhythmically, almost entirely melodic, and even atonal sequences develop a very special charm ....
One gets the feeling that Amon has studied closely the works of his "great" colleagues like James Horner, James Newton Howard, Hans Zimmer, Craig Armstrong, Mark Isham and Brian Tyler, any weaknesses avoided and here now pervades his very big own thing - which administered a more than just once a real goosebumps ....
One out tip with such a "moment" would eg Track 12, "You Have No Idea" ....
His own handwriting leaves Mr. Amon detect using unusual sound compositions - throat-singing in many different facets you do not get to hear so often ....
This gives this score its very own touch ....
But a true masterpiece I have not mentioned yet:
With a track like "Elysium" (28) Amon goes without further hesitation and ask to to Olympus, which just a few score composers Access granted - such as Hans Zimmer and his "Chevaliers De Sangreal" from "The Da Vinci Code ": A simple composition that begins inconspicuously, steadily and inexorably increases and ends in a veritable crescendo of melody and feeling that one's eyes are wet and you want to hear this piece again ....
Such tracks there is truly not a dime a dozen ....
As I said, Ryan Amon is now right at the top with me - 'let's see what comes next from him ....
After this experience of "Elysium" one must look forward ....
ELYSIUM Ryan Amon:
!!!! An absolute and unconditional recommendation
