In 2014 Proxxon revised this device, recognizable by the ventilation slots on the aluminum housing. The old version has six slots in the longitudinal direction, the only two new transverse to the axis of rotation. The new model now has a double ball bearing. The problem: they both sit at the bottom. In contrast to drilling lateral forces occur during milling. The storage acts as a fulcrum. The upper end of the spindle but depends without bearing "free to air". There engages from above the pinion of the motor. The spindle is carried out only up of the sliding bearings of the engine, and they are not designed for lateral forces.
In forums for small CNC machines, this problem is often reported. We suggest a subscription for these devices :-) otherwise one is after a short time because without milling.
