Beautiful book of Edgar Morin

My Philosophers (Paperback)

Customer Review

Beautiful book of Edgar Morin. Not always easy, but accessible to those interested in philosophy. To avoid confusion, please note that this is primarily a book where Edgar Morin explains his thoughts in light of the philosophers who counted for him, not a book that presents the thought of these philosophers . To put it graphically it's more "MY philosophers" that "my Philosophers." The result is both brilliant and illuminating. We follow step by step the progress of Morin, his doubts, his enthusiasms, his fascination with the thought and faith in something bigger. His older brothers are Heraclitus, Montaigne, Pascal and Rousseau; not far behind Hegel, Marx, Freud, Spinoza. A great tolerance in this extremely curious thinker, always learning, progressing and that makes us want to follow him. Although it is not necessarily always agree with him, his enthusiasm and joy are always communicating. Perhaps one of the few living French philosophers media not to usurp his title.
