Excellent perceived quality unpacking with this little camera that weighs its weight (nothing to do with interior models). The installation with the CD and the cable supplied was without problem, with just a small update the firmware immediately requested after installation (which is common for D-Link). Added without any problem to my existing cameras on "mydlink". Now allows me to monitor my garden with a bluffing image quality. Note however: With a single infrared LED, night vision outdoors is very limited. So do not rely on this camera in night conditions: We see nothing beyond 2 or 3 meters. Otherwise, you can view the signal in 3 presets (very configurable including in resolution / compression / or ratio regarding audio) and are default 240P, 480P and HD. There are the usual settings of motion detection etc. It can automatically record when motion detection, or continuous loop overwriting older images (a 16GB micro SD allows me to store almost the last 10 days in 240P). It works, but playback of clips generated is tedious, if not off-putting ... As visible without (much) problems on my Android smartphone with the "mydlink Lite" application (free). In 240P it works quickly and well. It oar still much in 480P, but I have not tried to optimize compression which is perfectly feasible on the camera's firmware. (Not available on HD smartphone, which seems wise). I mention that because of the relatively high weight of the camera, blocking position with the ball is not perfect and it really takes to tighten block it did not disrupt. In fact, this ball is exactly the same as the interior models much lighter and it's still quite limited for this model. Established since June 2013 outdoor (under the Advanced a roof) it works without problems, but wired. Indeed, retail weight: following the inability of this camera to reconnect independently after an ADSL outage or brownout EDF (had to unplug the camera and then reconnect to the slightest cut, so that it is again recognized, which is difficult when one is on vacation at the other end of the country) I ended up pulling the cable in the attic, install a hub (in anticipation of the addition of the following) and connect Ethernet.
Edit: November 2014. I now have 2 of these outdoor cameras in the advance of my roof. As mentioned above, my first works continuously since June 2013. The second for almost 1 year, without any problems (wired). I think buying a 3rd soon. (After I stop :)
