(Negative)
1) When I tried to open the device, I traff the first problem. The cover is too tight, no tools to open virtually impossible. I have partially broken nail. Close the lid is hardly easier. Does one only two holders at the bottom Align then close the top. Unfortunately jumps one of the lower food holding loose immediately if you start with the above. One needs just to keep the device in a hand, close to the second to the bottom and remains valid, and then make the third hand on the top. Absolutely idiotic design. From all devices that I have seen, Motorola, Siemens, Nokia, Samsung, Sony Ericsson is the cover of Desire the worst. Even with such a tight lid relatively large amount of dust has got in somehow. The cover is not cut precisely, in some places fills one sharp edge about 1 millimeter high. On one side of the lid is not tight and "clickt" while pushing. So, when working with the device is filled these "click" with each finger contact with the display. That makes already annoying.
2) connection in the Vodafone network has now succeeded by great effort. I have set up a different access point for CallYa (event.vodafone.de) because not walked. Half an hour tried everything did not go. Then switch back to the standards, then deviating to this, then we went anyway. Whether that can continue to function stably, is unknown. If WinMobile device (also from HTC) which immediately goes without questions.
3) Internet Sharing for PC is not working. It lacks a driver for "Android device". HTC does not offer the right, you have to install all the sync packet. But I will not.
4) No File Manager available. I have searched several days after my camera images. About Photo gallery I could not find them. Only when connected via cable to PC, I found this.
5) Camera images are of poor quality. Blurred and dark. Scrap.
6) display has a red stitch, white color can not reproduce. All colors are terribly sick and act just like übergegrillt. Websites are presented with strange colors.
7) Web browser (WebKit engine) can not show even the Amazon page (full PC version) properly. Useless then.
(Positive)
1) build quality is very good (except cover).
2) Sensitivity of the display is very good.
(Neutral - Android-based, non-HTC-related)
1) No ordinary navigation software available. TomTom there is nothing of Route66 nothing Garmin nothing. Garmin but working on their own navigation device on the basis of Android. Whether this program will eventually released for smartphones remains unknown. Google Maps is completely dependent on the Internet and therefore no serious offer.
(Conclusion)
I have the feeling of an empty stomach device. Beautiful, with bright colors, brand new, but stupid function. Also not a good software for Android available. That there was no Skype and some other of my favorite applications was known to me. That there is even no navigation software, has surprised me. Why then sell these devices if you can not use the hardware?
I will unfortunately return the thing and remain with a Windows Mobile device. There's at least all the required software already. With Android I fear may be some years.
