This is a pretty novel, deeper than it seems because it evokes themes such as tolerance, love despite the differences, the way humans evolve with age, both true to that they were and yet detached from their old priorities. Can we finally take it easy compared to the predestination of social origin on reaching an advanced age? The title suggests a comedy "English", and this is the case, but the love story between this grizzled gentleman and Mrs. Ali is more universal and stripping one might think, yet actually punctuated delicious burlesque scenes. However, the outcome is disappointing, coming tarnish the movement of the story by twists of fireworks and very pretty unlikely agreed. If this is unfortunate, it does not alter the great qualities of this bittersweet romance.
